Post subject: Wines & Different Types of Nuts

Haven't really paired wine with nuts to ofthen, but I just had a bottle of Freemark Abbey 1995 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (Bordeaux Style Blend). It went super with some mixed nuts.

Besides Mixed Nuts, especially like Almonds, Hazelnuts, and Walnuts. My last wine and nut experience came with a Bodega Norton Privada Red Wine Blend (Malbec). Great Wine, would like to know what type of nuts you are serving with wine?

Peanuts would go okay with the not too expensive Leaping Horse Vineyards Chardonnay. Both would be a good proposal for Happy Hour.

Almonds, cashews, pistachios, and walnuts were our nibblers together with 2005 Dahlia Pinot Noir from Monterey County, California.

We had a nice assortments of various nuts. Quite delicious. The wine was
Beringer Sparkling White Zinfandel, No Vintage. Sparkling White was inexpensive and not impressive. What Sparklings or Champagnes you drink with Assortments of Nuts?

We almost have similar taste patterns, we like all types of salty nuts, with Red Wines, especially Syrahs. Can you taste the difference between a Syrah and a Shiraz?

Me too, our Red Wine was Cline Cellars Ancient Vines Zinfandel. Matched well with a large assortment of salty mixed nuts? What nuts are you eating?

Please present all types of nuts, and I will bring the wine, like a 2006 LaFond Vineyards Syrah from Santa Rita Hills, Santa Barbara County, California.

Our friends presented us with a large variety of all kinds of nuts.
Nuts were served with Gina Chardonnay from Napa. The White Wine was okay, but like many other Salty Nut Eaters, we would have preferred a Red Wine with our Nuts.

I loved the salty and oily peanuts. Also, Pistachio and Macadamia nuts were served. The nuts were super, the wine was a cheap CK Mondavi 2006 Chardonnay California.

Hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds, and cashews with d'Arenberg 2006 The Laughing Maggie Shiraz & Voignier Blend. Good wine.

Mostly, Macadamia, Pistachios, Almonds, Peanuts, etc. all these various nuts, were nice to nibble on . The Red Wine was Alamos Ridge 2005 Malbec Mendoza from Argentina. Wine presented dark fruity flavors, good taste and balance.

Mildly salted nuts like, Spanish Almonds, Hazelnuts, Pistachios, and Walnuts were nicely matched with Guenoc & Langty Estate 2006 Guenoc Pinot Grigio. Wine was refresing.

Our host called the snacks, Salty Mixed Nuts (large variety), the wine from Steven Bannus Cellars was a 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley in California. Better than average tasting Red.
